GAMeC : Video guides and app for the new Malevich exhibition
“I have not invented anything, only the night I have sensed, and in it the new which I have called Suprematism”. For the centenary of the painting Black Square on white background with which Kazimir Malevich launched the Russian avant-garde movement of Suprematism in 1915, the GAMeC - Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo is hosting an important retrospective dedicated to this key 20th-century artist.
GAMeC e GAmm - Giunti Arte mostre musei, co-producers of the exhibition scheduled from 2 October 2015 to 17 January 2016, have chosen us to supply the video guides and to create the multimedia contents and mobile apps as back-up materials for the tour. Besides the audio tour, which recounts thirty years of Malevich’s artistic production laid out over ten rooms, our creative lab has also produced an introductory video in which the exhibition is presented by the director of the GAMeC himself, Giacinto di Pietrantonio.
The director describes Malevich as one of those geniuses without whom art would not have been the same, quote “a fundamental artist of the last century who, with Duchamp and Picasso, changed the face of modern and contemporary art history”.
The video guides, available in Italian and English and included in the admission price, will take visitors on a fascinating journey of discovery of Malevich’s masterpieces, and also of an impressive body of works by other important exponents of the Russian avant-garde. Visitors will also be able to download the multimedia contents of the exhibition onto their smartphones thanks to the app specially created for the exhibition, which will soon be available free in Italian and English on Google Play e AppStore.
